Maanya, my niece, is a year old baby. Two months back we came to know that she was born with – a rare genetic disease (HURLER disease – MPS 1). Doctors have advised Cord blood stem cell transplant being the permanent solution for this disease. At present she is undergoing Enzyme replacement therapy and Cord blood stem cell transplant has been fixed on 15 September 2011 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.
